In the food and pharmaceutical sectors, upholding the highest standards of hygiene is not just a regulatory requirement, it's a fundamental aspect of operational excellence. Over 2024, we expanded our product collection to provide easy to clean, durable furniture and equipment for each stage of your washroom flow. By optimising your washroom facilities with our comprehensive range of hygienic solutions, you can minimise contamination risks and ensure a safer environment for both your products and personnel.

Cubicles & Integrated Plumbing System (IPS) panels

Our newly available cubicles and IPS panels are designed for high traffic, hygiene-critical environments. Both products are manufactured from 13mm compact-grade laminate and can be made to measure for full flexibility within the space provided. They can be used alongside our toilets, urinals and handwashing facilities, concealing pipework and providing a solution that is easier to maintain. Compliant with Building Regulations Part M, Teknomek cubicles and panels can be fully washed down without the risk of moisture damage. This makes the cleaning process quicker and more efficient without the need to clean the (now) concealed pipework.

Toilets & urinals

We provide a range of urinals, cisterns and WCs that provide flexibility within your space. Our WC with stainless steel cistern is available with either a P (horizontal) or S (vertical) trap outflow pipe options, fully shrouded and floor mountable for safe and secure use. We also offer a slimmer, space-saving urinal that is constructed from one piece of stainless steel making it crevice-free for easier cleaning.

Wash troughs

Choose between knee-operated or infra-red wash troughs to minimise unnecessary touch surfaces where contamination can occur. Available with up to six stations, Teknomek’s wash trough design features a sloping top and reduced horizontal ledges to reduce the risk of Listeria. The risk of splashback is also minimal due to the sloped, self-draining bowl. This, while crucial for dry production environments, also aids staff comfort by reducing the chance of working in wet clothing.

Whether you would like to save on the water bills for environmental purposes or for financial savings, our handheld programmer can be used alongside our WRAS-approved, infra-red taps to monitor water use. This useful equipment allows you to set a designated runtime for each tap with access to the data to compare usage across shifts. Providing enhanced hygiene monitoring, managers can ensure staff are cleaning their hands thoroughly for the correct period of time.

Companies can also save money on equipment by linking each 6.6-8.8kw instantaneous water heater to two taps rather than each wash trough needing one each. Using energy efficient bare-wire technology, our economic water heaters warm up the water automatically as it flows through without wasting energy in standby mode.

Soap & sanitiser dispensers

Pedestal or wall-mounted? Push-operated or infra-red? Soap and sanitiser dispensers are an essential item regardless of sector. We have a wide selection of foam and liquid dispensers to help ensure hygiene protocols are followed across your facility.

Hand drying

Although we have discussed the importance of choosing the correct hand drying method for your facility in a previous blog, we believe that it can’t be emphasised enough. Bacteria thrives on damp surfaces with damp hands 1000 times more likely to spread bacteria than dry hands. While we offer both hand dryers and paper towel dispensers, we recommend a hybrid approach – select the correct equipment for your unique requirements using our buying guide

Waste bag holders

Dispose of paper towels using one of our waste bag holder options. We offer both wall-mounted and pedestal designs with the option of a knee-operated lid for minimal touch surfaces where cross-contamination can take place.

Location

It is best practice to locate washrooms near or within locker rooms or changing areas. This arrangement allows employees to securely store their garments and personal protective equipment (PPE) while using the facilities, thereby reducing the risk of cross-contamination.

If washrooms are located away from changing rooms, appropriate storage options should be provided to ensure that PPE and garments (such as coats and aprons) remain clean and hygienic.
